Adding to its tall, dark, curvy and petite collections, Barbie has unveiled its first female hijab wearing doll.
This is the first of its kind and it is a model of U.S. Olympic fencer, Ibtihaj Muhammad, a black woman.
During the Olympics, Ms Muhammad drew criticisms after she described the United States as a dangerous place for Muslims, saying she did not feel safe as a Muslim living in America.
The Hijab wearing barbie is part of Mattel’s “Shero” series, which seeks to honour influential women including model Ashley Graham and director Ava DuVernay.
