The trio of singer, Rihanna, human rights activist, Amal Clooney and designer, Donatella Versace have been announced as the hosts for the 2018 Met Gala.
They will be co-hosting with notable fashion editor, Anna Wintour, the next year’s Fashion industry IT event. They will be taking over the hosting duties from Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams, Gisele Bündchen, and Tom Brady, who hosted the show last year.
Also, the theme of the upcoming Met Gala has been revealed and it is “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.”
Designed to create a dialogue between fashion and the masterworks of religious art in the museum’s holdings, the show will be presented in a trinity of locations: the Anna Wintour Costume Center, the medieval galleries at the Met’s Fifth Avenue location, and further uptown at the Cloisters.
Central to the conversation will be the papal garb on loan from the Sistine Chapel sacristy, many of which have never been seen outside the Vatican city
