United States President-elect, Donald Trump reveals he would only earn $1 dollar as salary

Prior to his election victory, President-elect of the United States revealed that he would not be taking the presidential salary of $400,000 when he resumes office in January. He said that he would rather take a nominal dollar as required by the law.

The business mogul had spoken at an event in September last year in New Hampshire and said:
“The first thing I’m going to do is tell you that if I’m elected president, I’m accepting no salary, okay? That’s not a big deal for me.”

The billionaire also revealed that he is not bound to do the bidding of his financial backers.

According to Forbes,Mr Trump is worth an estimated net $3.7 billion.

Previously, his wealthy predecessors have donated their salaries to charity after deeming it is not financially neccessary for them to take it as personal income.
