Music sensation, Simisola Ogunleye a.k.a Simi, opened up on why she switched to secular music, her forthcoming album, female artistes in the Nigerian music industry and more, in a recent interview.
According to ” Smile for me” crooner, she left gospel music for secular music because she wanted to explore music as an art, and take it as a job.
On when her album will be dropping, Simi said:
“I’m so excited and I am also a bit scared because I know a lot of work is going to go into it. I’m a perfectionist, my producer is a perfectionist so between the both of us there probably is gonna be a lot of stress.’’
Speaking on why female artistes are perceived on a lower level than their male counterparts, Simi said:
“I don’t think that female artists are on a different level, I think it’s just society that puts guys ahead of women it’s not like women are less. ”
