Men and women are not equal – Veteran actor, Adebayo Salami

Veteran Nollywood actor, Adebayo Salami, popular known as Oga Bello bared his mind on the topic of gender equality.

According to him, men and women are not equal. It is westernization that seems to be changing the African culture where women were  taught to be respectful of  their husbands.

He made this known during a chat with Broadway TV, saying:

“Men and women are not equal. That is what I am am saying. We are throwing the African culture away. Our forefathers can’t not claim you are equal with your husband. This is what happens out there in the Western world. That is the emulation I am talking about

“African women are taught to bow for their husband. The husband too must respect the wife. Bow, do things for him, cook for him. There is respect there”
