‘Augument’ crooner, Chibuzor Nelson Azubuike, popularly called by his stage name Phyno, does not want to be addressed as just a rapper anymore but as a musician.
“Let me make this clear. When you say I am singing a lot lately, Yea, I blew up as a rapper but before blowing up as a rapper, I was a producer for 8 to 9 years before I ever rapped. So don’t call me a rapper, call me a musician, I know music. That’s what most people don’t know…the way I relate to songs is not the same way other artistes relate to music.
” It’s completely different. If I want to sing, if that’s the vibe I’m feeling, I do it. And if I want to rap, if that’s what I am feeling at the moment I do it. There’s no box, there is being like you are switching from what you used to be”
