Married again! Divorced Nollywood actresses that found love twice

The ritual of marriage and divorce scandals have been an important part of the entertainment industry.

Many glam dolls of Nollywood have been married, divorced and married again.

Allure-Vanguard lists top popular movie stars that have been twice lucky and presently enjoying their new homes, irrespective of their ugly pasts.

Stephanie Okereke

Nollywood actress, Stephanie Okereke got married to a former Super Eagles football player Chikelue Iloenyosi in 2004, a marriage which a high court in Lagos in 2012 declared null and void, because at the time they got married, Chikelue was allegedly legally married to another woman in the US.

Mother luck smiled on the movie star again and in April 2012, Okereke remarried to Linus Idahosa in Paris, France, at a private wedding ceremony that was attended by members of her family and scores of Nollywood actresses and actors.

Their first son Maxwell Enosata Linus was born in October 2015 and they continue living happily ever-after.

Mercy Aigbe

Mercy Aigbe Gentry was once married to an Igbo man, but kept his full identity hidden. The union which couldn’t stand the test of time produced a pretty baby girl, Michelle, now a teenager.

“Then, I was young and naive. Now, I handle issues differently. Also, the major reason my first marriage failed was because my ex-husband’s mum did not want him to marry from another tribe”, she was quoted to have said in an interview.

Few years down the line, Mercy found love again in the arms of equally divorced business man, Lewis Gentry.

They couple have a six year old son, Juwon, but sadly the marriage packed up again.

Clarion Chukwura

Nollywood star actress, Clarion Chukwurah has found love again for the third time.

The talented role interpreter and mother of multi-award winning musical video director,Clarence Peters, is presently enjoying a marital bliss.

Her new found love, America -based boyfriend Anthony Boyd took her to the altar in April, 2016. They had a small and intimate outdoors ceremony.

51-year-old Clarion, who had her first child, Clarence for Afro-Juju originator, Sir Shina Peters at a tender age, walked out of her first marriage to Mr. Abiola in 2003. She got married again on February 14, 2004 to Femi Oduneye, a socialite, popularly known as Femi Egyptian. They separated on May 5, 2006.

Monalisa Chinda

Nollywood actress, Monalisa Chinda, whose marriage to the Question Mark label boss, Dejo Richards, crashed about nine years ago, over claims of domestic violence walked down the aisle again on Thursday, September 1, 2016 in a Grecian fairy tale wedding.

The actress and mother of one had married her beau, Victor Coker traditionally on February 20, 2016 at father’s compound in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, with a few of her celebrity friends in attendance.

Speaking on her first marriage, she had said “One thing I regret most is the fact that I am divorced. Where I come from, I’m the first daughter. I’m from a royal family, it has never been on record in my family that the first daughter would walk out of her matrimonial home. But it was a matter of life and death, otherwise, I would have stayed back and make my marriage work.”

Lola Alao

Popular Nollywood actress Lola Alao legalized her second marriage in the United States to American-based IT expert, Wale Ajibola in 2013.

The Yoruba actress who had a daughter from her previous marriage said she has forgiven her ex-husband, Dare Ogunlana, but allegations made by the man during the heat of the divorce saga still lingers.

Dare described Lola as “diabolical, deceitful and a woman not to be trusted”, to which the woman responded with maturity by keeping mum.

In a recent interview, Lola agreed her ex husband was a nice man but got carried away by the pain of the separation. According to her “that man is a very nice man, it just didn’t work out between us”, she said.

Foluke Daramola

Foluke Daramola was once married to Babatunde Sobowale, the son of former Lagos State Commissioner of Education, Professor Sobowale and they had two children together.

Painfully, the young marriage which lasted only three years (2005-2008) met with brick walls on grounds of domestic violence allegations.

Daramola has since remarried, and recently celebrated her second wedding anniversary with her latest husband, Kayode Salako while Sobowale too has given marriage a second chance.

Stella Damasus

Nollywood actress and singer, Stella Damasus, has been mocked and called all sorts of names after she was linked with Doris Simeon’s ex husband, Daniel Ademinokan.

Stella’s first husband and father of her two daughters,Jaiye Aboderin died in 2004, then in 2009, she got married to her second husband, Emeka Nzeribe.

In less than three years, the marriage collapsed and the Delta State born thespian became single again.

In 2013, she was romantically linked with Mr. Ademinokan who later turned her third husband.

Till date, Stella and Daniel have been living happily together with the kids they both have from previous spouses.

Funke Akindele

Nollywood actress Funke Akindele is now married to Nigerian rapper JJC

For the most part of 2016, everyone suspected that Funke had found love again and it was with Nigerian singer Abdulrasheed Bello aka JJC yet no one could prove it for sure.

The couple exchanged vows on August 23, 2016 in a secret London wedding in the presence of her friends and family.

Funke’s first marriage to Kehinde Almoroof Oloyede only lasted around 400 days before it packed up amidst controversies.

Her new husband JJC, is already a father of three kids from three different women but this did not stop him from committing to the lovely Yoruba actress.

Ann Njemanze

Ann who was formerly married to Segun Arinze remarried to a Unilag lecturer, Silver Ojieson, on Saturday, November 9, 2013. Barely 2 years later the union crumbled like a pack of card.

The Tinsel star is now back to being a single mother of two lovely children.
