Actress, Iyabo Ojo cries out over excessive LIRS taxation

Nollywood actress and movie producer, Iyabo Ojo may have to discontinue doing business in Lagos State soon.

This is because the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service has slammed her with almost N38M as a personal income tax for the year 2014 to 2017.

The single mother of two, who opened a multi-million naira edifice in Lekki named Fespris Lounge & Bar in September 2017, and also houses an Amala spot and beauty salon, wonder how the government expects her to raise that amount with a business, which she is still struggling to build, and the poor remuneration in acting, which is famous for.

She called on her fans to help beg the government to pity her or she might resolve to early retirement.

In an Instagram post on Thursday night, the actress wrote: “Well! It’s so sad that I may have to finally close down my business soon ?….. because I don’t even know how or where to start this negotiation with Lagos State from, I’m still struggling with making profit, after paying rent, salaries, maintenance, electricity, local & state govt taxes in different categories & levy, I hardly make little or no profit ….
