As drums roll in preparation for 59th Independence Day Anniversary, Nigerian celebrities bare their thoughts to Allure Vanguard on what is worth celebrating in the country.

Nigeria is not worth celebrating due to the economic hardship and lack of employment her people face. But even in darkness, I like to see or create my own light, so I celebrate my great country Nigeria for being able to stand and defy all prophecies of war and doom.
Power has improved but can be better. We also have well meaning Nigerians that have overlooked the sluggish nature of the government to fight for her citizens in diaspora. The likes of Chairman of Air Peace Nigeria that evacuated hundreds of Nigerians from Xenophobic Violence in South Africa at his own expense. That should have been the responsibility of the government but patriotic love is worth celebrating.
Nigeria has also conquered the days of fuel subsidy which has given rise to the availability of fuel owing to the interaction between demand and supply.

That our Country is still existing is worth celebrating. Yes, there are various agitations here and there. It’s definitely going to be resolved one day, by who I don’t know. Because certainly no single government can do it.
Honestly I sympathise with the present Government for coming in when things are this bad, but no excuse. Like my mother would say, “WON RI OKO LOKO IKUN, KI WON TO GBIN EPA SI. They have seen the problem before coming on board but please we should give them a breathing space. Quite unfortunate, some of Nigerians don’t wish the Country well for selfish reasons, I hate those that oppose without coming up with better and quality ideas. Pop once said that “the whole world is at war. So if any country is celebrating their independence despite whatever challenge they are facing, we should too. I’m happy to be alive witnessing another anniversary. Nigeria go still better.
