Netflix Drops Trailer For Chadwick Boseman’s Final Movie

US streaming giant, Netflix has dropped the trailer for ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom’, Chadwick Boseman’s last movie before his death.

The American drama film, which is an adaptation of August Wilson’s 1984 classic, is expected to premiere in December.

The movie, which featured several movie stars including Glynn Turman, Colman Domingo, Michael Potts and Viola Davies, follows the story of Ma Rainey (Davies), a southern singer, her ambitious trumpeter Levee (Boseman) and their quest for relevance in Chicago’s music industry.

Set in Chicago in 1927, the musicians in the movie tackle various issues of race, music, relationships and the exploitation of black recording artists.

Boseman, the star actor in ‘Black Panther’, Marvel’s blockbuster superhero film, died of colon cancer in August after being diagnosed in 2016.

The 43-year-old was born and raised in Anderson, South Carolina, and got his start in the movie industry in an episode of ‘Third Watch’ in 2003.

He would later feature in ‘Law and Order’, ‘ER’ as well as ‘CSI’ before getting his breakout role as Jackie Robinson in ’42’.

It was his act in ’42’ that led directly to his role as T’Challa/Black Panther, the fictional leader of Wakanda a character that first appeared in ‘Captain America: Civil War’.

He won several awards for his portrayal of the iconic Marvel character.
