Pick your theme wisely
Pick a theme that can grow with your child. A child’s room does not have to be overly juvenile in order to be joyful and age-appropriate. You can use fantasy themes for teenagers as well as toddlers. You can use peel-and-stick decals of woodlands and fairies to decorate the room of a young child. The covers of popular fantasy books or sculptures of fantasy figures displayed on shelves may appeal to older kids.
Be smart about furniture
You should invest in furniture that can change function as your children grow. Bunk beds that can be converted into twin beds as siblings grow up are an example. A craft or play area for a young child can be transformed into a study or lounge area for an older one with slight rearrangements, but you need pieces that adapt as they do.
Get creative with the walls
Playing with different design features instead of sticking to a basic painted wall is more fun. With dry erase boards, your kids can redecorate every day, drawing polka dots, stripes, or simple landscapes, depending on their mood. It’s also an easy option to use peel-and-stick wallpaper since it’s not permanent. It allows you to completely change a room’s look without investing a lot of money or time.
Change sheets and accessories
Combining top and bottom sheets and pillowcases gives you endless options for color, pattern, and texture. Get a few inexpensive sets of sheets. You can save money by changing other small accessories as your child grows.
