Yvonne Jegede slams ex-husband for abandoning son

Nigerian actress, Yvonne Jegede, has slammed her ex-husband, Kunle Fawole, also known as Abounce, for allegedly neglecting their son.

During a conversation with her colleague Mercy Johnson-Okojie on her cooking show, the actress lambasted her ex-husband for totally ignoring their son.

Speaking on her failed marriage, the actress said: “First I was scared, marriage of not up to two years crashed, but I’m glad I left because if I had stayed back for what people will say, I will not be happy to today.”

When asked about the state of their relationship, the actress stated:

We don’t talk.” When Johnson-Okojie asked about his relationship with their son, Jegede said, “He doesn’t come around. He doesn’t call, he doesn’t do nothing. I don’t know what could have caused our friendship to deteriorate. Apart from the marriage, we had a good very solid friendship, I think I still look at the friendship we have and believe that what we are experiencing now shouldn’t have been so.

Jegede went on to say that Fawole did not visit or acknowledge their son until she threatened to take away his surname if he did not appear when he was about five months old.

She claimed that the actor had since declined invitations to be involved in his son’s life.

She added:

He doesn’t wish him happy birthday on his birthdays. He doesn’t call him to ask after his well being, he just doesn’t care that he has a son somewhere.

Your gift is in my hand yet you don’t care. You see, one moment I dreaded the most is for my child to wake up one day and ask where is my father and it has started happening. One day when he asked, I had to send messages to his siblings to ask him to come and check up on him but it yielded no result.

It was so bad that my father had to represent my son at school for father’s day event they recently had, it was embarrassing for me but I’m waiting to see when he will show up or if he wouldn’t till the boy tuurns 18.

Their marriage ended less than two years after Jegede and Fawole married.
