Five trousers every gent should own

By Josephine Agbonkhese

Are you one of those men who never go beyond a certain kind of trouser when shopping?

Many gents are guilty of this.
For maximum versatility, a man should stock his closet with a variety of trousers, so you’re able to form a distinguished style.
With a combination of these in your closet, you should be able to mix and match a huge variety of styles from dapper and sophisticated, to casual and cool.
If you aren’t sure where to start, here are five trousers to add to your wardrobe.

Chinos

Chinos are extremely versatile. Pair them with a polo for a preppy style, or give them a cuff at the bottom and rock them with a t-shirt for a laid-back casual look. Pair them with a button-down shirt and they will serve for a great business-casual style.

Joggers

You want to feel comfortable and still look dapper on your off-duty days or at weekends? Then add a pair of joggers to your wardrobe.

Joggers are the peak of comfort.

There are a lot of interesting ways to style them too but pairing them with a t-shirt is always classy.

Jeans
These are a staple in any man’s wardrobe. When shopping for new jeans, make sure you’re getting something fantastic that adds that little to your style. Jeans work well with both casual and business-casual styles; can be paired with practically anything.

Dress pants

This is not only perfect for your 9-to-5 but also your weekend gigs and off-duty days. Dress pants are the most formal trouser style any man should have in his closet. Also, try sticking with natural fibers; they pair well with blazers and dress shirts.

Wide-leg pant
If every other morning you still squeeze yourself only into a pair of slim- or skinny-fit pants, then you need an upgrade.
Trousers with wider silhouettes are increasingly filtering into mainstream fashion and many celebrities have jumped onto the wide-leg bandwagon. Its comfort and styling possibilities are endless.
