Caroline King, Adunni Ade, others, salute Funke Akindele at 46

Birthday greetings and tributes have been pouring in for Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Funke Akindele, who clocks 46 today.

The movie star started by posting new pictures on social media to celebrate herself on her special day, after which many of her colleagues followed suit to post her pictures and videos accompanied with special messages.

Actress Caroline King, who described the celebrant as her eldest screen daughter recounted how dedicated and tenacious Funke had been since their days on ‘I Need to Know’, a Nigerian family-oriented television series aired on the Nigerian Television Authority network, which ran from 1997 to 2002.

She revealed that Funke, who is now known for churning out blockbuster movies curiously went behind the cameras, making enquiries, wanting to know how things work. No wonder, the Lord has used her to accomplish much in front and behind the camera.

She prayed that the Lord shall continue to keep Funke’s feet firmly on higher grounds. And that she will be celebrated always.

On her part, actress Adunni Ade revealed how much Funke loves to shop, saying that she was and still is the kindest!

Adunni reminisced on how Funke took her shopping in Downtown Manhattan 10 years ago, right before she relocated to Nigeria.

She wrote. “I love that you love and explore life! Thank you to you and my dearest sis @neeceebosslady @harbimbolar for always welcoming me with open arms. That mothering nurture side is so embedded in you that it’s so beautiful to see. I love the fact that you love your siblings like no other. I watch you and smile! As you celebrate this new age, an abundance of Grace, and blessings bestowed upon you. God bless you, sis! HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEFTY!”

Other celebrities also have also dropped a birthday message for her including Chioma Akpotha, Tonto Dikeh, Kie Kie, Wumi Toriola, Destiny Etiko, Faithia Williams, and many others.
