Tennis legend, Serena Williams has given birth to her second child a year after she announced she was retiring from tennis to grow her family.
The 41-year-old on Tuesday, August 22, shared the first glimpse of her newborn on Instagram, with her husband, Reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian, and their first daughter Olympia with the caption: “Adira River Ohanian. Welcome my beautiful angel. “
Adira River Ohanian is a Hebrew name, which means ‘strong, noble, powerful.”
The birth of Adira comes almost a year after her last match as a tennis star.
Williams announced that she had become pregnant for the second time just before the Met Gala this past May
The tennis player and her spouse first met when they ran into each other at a hotel in Rome in May of 2015, and they began dating not long afterward
The pair went on to become engaged in December of 2016, and they welcomed daughter Olympia the following September.
