Rotary to embark on N12M projects

The Rotary Club of Lagos West has said it intends to embark on a N12 million project.

Omolara Akinsanya made this known weekend during her investiture as the 41 President of the Club in Festac, Lagos State.

According to her, the association will provide lumpectomy and herniorrhaphy surgeries worth N6 million for diabetes patients who can’t afford proper medical care.

Her words: “Other projects include the renovation of Toilet at Seventh Avenue Primary School, donation of delivery kits to pregnant women at Amuwo Odofin Primary Health Centre and provision of microfinance empowerment grant to 20 beneficiaries.

“Also, we will be donating sewing machines and grinding machines to indigent members of our community, school bags and exercise books will also be donated to Amuwo Odofin Primary School and many others.”

Praying for Akinsanya, the District Governor, District 9110 Ifeyinwa Rita Ejezie said: “I pray that she will take the club to another height and outdo, whatever the outgoing President has done.

“The success and failure of every President depends on how much she can touch humanity, and she cannot do that without money. Therefore I call on Rotary members and non-members to support her financially, to enable her to achieve her goals; and aspirations for this Rotary year.”

Past Assistant Governor, PAG and Chair Service Project, Kefe Adedibu said: “The different project is inspired to impact the lives of indigent people especially people that are challenged medically and lack the financial strength to get proper medical care.

“To achieve our goal, we will ensure that those who are deserving will be the beneficiaries via detailed screening. The screening will enable us to pick only people who can’t afford basic healthcare.”
