By Josephine Agbonkhese

Lagos-based foremost fashion designing academy, Rhoda Michaels Fashion Institute, recently launched 20 new fashion designing brands into the market.

Themed ‘Unleash’, the event which coincided with the institute’s annual end-of-year party, brought together excited family and friends of 2023 graduands of the academy.
Among brands launched were Bifinix by Igwemadu Ngozi, Dee-Nma Atelier by Obasi Goodness, O2dee Apparel by Oladosu Olatundun, Fatimah Smart by Smart Ali Fatimah, Terdi James by Obianihu Amos, to mention a few.

For Agbeyo Rhoda, Chief Executive Officer/Creative Director, Rhoda Michaels Fashion Institute, the academy, now in its 10th year, was intentional about its graduating students this time around.
“This year, we were very intentional about making entrepreneurship work because of the situation of the country. Therefore, we groomed all our students to become competent employees, turned them to budding entrepreneurs, and then registered their various businesses,” Rhoda said.

Held in Lagos, the high point of the evening was a fashion show which showcased the creations of the various brands launched.
From an exotic use of fabric to choice of colours and design patterns, all testaments to their acquired professional prowess, the newly-certified designers projected vast knowledge of both modern and futuristic fashion trends.
