Veteran Yoruba actor Olofaina dies at 74

Nigerian movie has been thrown into mourning again following the death of veteran Yoruba actor, Adedeji Aderemi, also known as Olofaina.

Olofaina died on Thursday, January 4, at the age of 74.

The deceased, who is from Ede in Osun State, lived in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital for many years.

Olofaina featured in various epic Yoruba movies such as Ogbori Elemoso, Ayanmo, Bashorun Gaa, Afonja.

Others are; Lagbondoko and Balogun Ibikunle Produced by Biodun Eleni- Latinwo amongst others.

His close associate, Chief Musliu Dadofunjo, also known as Baba Jogunomi, confirmed the death of the actor.

Dadofunjo said that the deceased died Thursday evening.

He said, “He died this evening. He has a house in Ibadan but he has returned to Ede where died at the age of 74.”

He was formerly the Solaloju of Ede and was upgraded to Majeobaje of Ede.

A few days ago, veteran Nollywood actor, Dejumo Lewis died at 80.

Lewis, a Nigerian film and television actor, famous for the Kabiyesi role in The Village Headmaster, Nigeria’s longest-running television soap opera, died on Friday, December 22.
