By Yemisi Suleiman

In a groundbreaking initiative, the Law Offices of Robert A. Celestin and Empire Africa have successfully concluded “Play to Win: The Nigerian Global Music Business Playbook,” a week-long event aimed at empowering and educating Nigeria’s burgeoning musical talent.

The event, held from June 29th to July 6th, kicked off with live auditions on Victoria Island, Lagos, where 150 contestants competed for an EP deal. Six finalists were chosen, showcasing the rich musical talent in Nigeria.

A panel discussion followed on July 5th, featuring industry experts who provided insights and strategies for aspiring musicians and stakeholders. The winners from the live auditions performed again, with three finalists selected.

The initiative concluded with an exclusive dinner on July 6th, celebrating the success of the campaign and fostering networking opportunities among attendees. Ebun Yele was announced as the winner of the exclusive EP deal with Empire Africa.

According to Robert A. Celestin, “The overwhelming response to ‘Play to Win’ is a testament to the immense talent and potential within Nigeria. We are thrilled to have provided a platform for these artists to showcase their abilities and gain valuable insights into the music industry.”

The initiative has democratized entertainment law expertise in West Africa, fostering a thriving musical ecosystem built on knowledge, empowerment, and equitable opportunity.
