In a joyous celebration of royal lineage, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, and his fourth wife, Olori Ashley Afolashade, today, September 3 welcomed their first child, a baby boy.
The news was shared on social media by the Ooni himself, who expressed gratitude to God for the blessing. “To God be the glory, great things he has done,” he wrote, accompanied by a heartwarming image of himself and the new mother.
Olori Afolashade also shared her excitement on her social media page. She described the birth as a “Double Crown Prince’ and expressed her gratitude to God for their family’s journey. “I am happy to announce the birth of our adorable prestigious royal son to the throne of our forebears, our Crown Prince PRof the source of Oodua. Last year was a little dark as our set of twins gained their wings at 14 weeks, but Olodumare remained faithful. He said what you need is a son to carry your forebear’s linage, a double Crown Prince, now he has blessed us with our gorgeous son, who is not just only a prince of the source, but our Crown Prince from both sides of his parents,” she wrote, recalling a previous loss of twins.
