Zikel Cosmetics & Oma Jay launch new skincare range for women of colour

By Yemisi Suleiman

Leading Nigerian beauty brand, Zikel Cosmetics, in collaboration with beauty influencer Oma Jay, recently hosted a grand dual launch event, unveiling their latest skincare line alongside the much-anticipated Butter Melt Concealer, for women of colour.

The event, attended by industry stakeholders and top social media influencers, was held to celebrate the introduction of Zikel’s new skincare range—proudly manufactured in South Korea. Speaking at the launch, Founder and CEO of Zikel Cosmetics, Ezike Kelvin Chinedu, highlighted the significance of this milestone, noting that Zikel is among the first Nigerian brands to produce skincare products in South Korea.

“There’s no better time than now to introduce the Zikel Skin Care range,” he said. “South Korea is globally recognized for its skincare innovation and quality. Their expertise, especially the popular ‘glass skin’ aesthetic, is admired by women worldwide. We are proud to bring that level of excellence to the Nigerian market.”

The Zikel skincare line, designed with anti-aging properties, includes six core products such as Vitamin C serum, snail cream, and Vitamin E formula. Ezike emphasized that the products are targeted at clearing blemishes, reducing dark spots, and delivering a radiant, youthful glow.

Also taking center stage at the event was beauty content creator and professional makeup artist, Oma Jay Nneji, who unveiled her specially formulated Butter Melt Concealer. Designed specifically for women of colour, the creamy concealer comes in eleven inclusive shades; ranging from light to deep tones.

“We spent over two years developing this concealer,” Oma Jay shared. “We tested multiple formulas across different skin types to ensure the final product blends seamlessly, not just with the skin but with other makeup products as well. It’s versatile enough to double as a foundation, providing full coverage without caking.”

Having long been a vocal critic of other beauty brands, Oma Jay expressed excitement about finally being on the other side of the reviews. “I’m looking forward to hearing what other makeup lovers and critics think, just like I’ve done for many other brands in the past.”
