Renowned 1970s Juju music star, Ahuja Bello, has passed away. He reportedly died in the early hours of Monday, just a day after celebrating his 83rd birthday.
The news of his passing was confirmed by his daughter, Bello Festus Aderemi, in a heartfelt tribute on Facebook.

His band’s official page, Ahuja Bello and His Golden Eagles Band, also announced the sad news, stating: “Though you are gone, your light continues to shine in our hearts. RIP Ahuja Bello.”
Born Ismaila Dele Bello on August 24, 1942, in Iseyin, Oyo State, Bello was a celebrated Juju musician, guitarist, and vocalist who rose to prominence in the 1970s and 1980s.
He initially worked as an electronic technician before following his passion for music. In 1976, he founded his band, Ahuja Bello and His Golden Eagles Band, captivating audiences with his vibrant performances and hit albums such as Awa ti Danfo and Ariya ti de.
In 1979, Bello travelled to London to record Ahuja in London, during which he established a friendship with reggae legend, Bob Marley.
Sadly, his flourishing career was cut short following a tragic accident on July 24, 1982, just a month before his 40th birthday.
