BeautybyTejj Studio and Mavin Records recently collaborated to organize the Master Your Face masterclass, an intimate, interactive beauty experience that invited fifteen women to the Mavin Records Headquarters in Lagos to celebrate International Women Day 2026.
An event that was designed to be interactive for makeup the enthusiasts and also a way to unwind, a session thought on the foundation of girlhood.
The event was based on this year’s theme of the International Women Day; GiveToGain and was to be an intentional moment of investing in women, not just to provide them with practical and everyday skills of making up, but also of a newfound sense of self-confidence and a stronger bond with the beauty of their own selves. It was warm, electric and very personal; the type of room where women walk out of feeling like themselves more than when they entered.
Creative Director and Lead Makeup Artist of BeautybyTejj Studio, Olateju Aderonke Omoyajowo, touched upon the core reason that made the day special: “We were striving to do more than makeup, we wanted to convey the essence of what IWD is all about; Confidence. Self-worth. Celebration, and that is what the women in that room went home with.
For Mavin IWD, the collaboration was a part of the series of events for their 5th year IWD initiative that continues to cater to women from different industries with long-held belief of the label to celebrate women without apology and boldly. The party united the all-encompassing beauty knowledge of BeautybyTejj Studio and the cultural influence of Mavin Records, both of which share a similar belief; that every woman should be seen, glorified, and empowered to present herself in all her fullness.
Makeup brand sponsors of the masterclass were also Face Coat and BBT Essentials, sister brands of BeautybyTejj, and Ruddy Cosmetics, whose efforts helped make the masterclass truly a reality.
As both teams continue to build on this initiative through future editions, one thing is certain International Women’s Day 2026 was not an end. It was a beginning.
