Lagos’ luxury fragrance scene has taken an innovative turn with the launch of the new Senbar concept by Seinde Signature, in Ikoyi, offering guests a multi-sensory experience that blends niche perfumery with bespoke mixology.
Located on the sixth floor of Ikoyi Plaza, Awolowo Road, the newly opened space goes beyond the traditional perfume retail experience, introducing what the brand describes as a “perfume bar” a concept where fragrance is not only worn, but also tasted.
Designed as a fusion of a fragrance showroom and an upscale cocktail lounge, each scent stocked at the boutique is paired with a corresponding drink, allowing visitors to experience perfumes through both smell and flavour.
The immersive concept creates an unexpected meeting point between perfumery and mixology, giving guests the opportunity to discover fragrances in a more playful and elevated way.
Speaking on the launch, General Manager of Seinde Signature, Oreoluwa Olusola, said the Lagos Senbar builds on the success of the Abuja location while introducing a more refined experiential luxury concept to Lagos consumers.
“We are launching the Senbar in Lagos, the same concept of a bar within a store, where customers and lifestyle enthusiasts can experience fragrances through taste, with custom cocktails tailored to match fragrances in the shop,” she said.
For the Founder and CEO of Seinde Signature, Olaseinde Olufemi Olusola, the vision behind the brand is to offer customers and fragrance lovers a more refined and authentic perfume experience.
According to him, Seinde Signature focuses strictly on niche fragrances, setting itself apart through quality and craftsmanship rather than mainstream branding.
“We chose to focus on niche perfumes. I would say we are the only niche fragrance store in Africa that does not mix synthetic perfumes with its collection. We believe synthetic ingredients can damage the skin tissues, so for us, it has always been about quality over hype. We want customers to come in, experience the fragrances themselves, and decide if it truly meets their standards,” he said.
Over the years, Seinde Signature has grown into one of Nigeria’s leading niche fragrance retailers, with over 15 branches nationwide and a portfolio of globally recognised perfume houses including Clive Christian, Electimuss, Pana Dora Sweden and Sospiro.
The launch of Senbar Lagos further reflects the growing demand for experiential luxury spaces in the city, as consumers increasingly seek immersive lifestyle experiences that combine beauty, hospitality and culture.
Now open to the public, the Ikoyi location offers fragrance lovers more than a simple shopping experience, positioning itself as a destination where scent, taste and luxury converge.
