Amid Covid19: Burna Boy Joins Lady Gaga In Star-studded Concert To Honour Health Workers

Nigerian Damini Ogulu, Burna Boy, Afrofusion sensation, was among celebrities across the globe who participated in the star-studded concert held to honour health workers at the frontline of the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

The virtual concert titled ‘One World: Together at Home’ was organised by Global Citizen, an international advocacy organisation, in partnership with the World Health Organisation (WHO).

The online concert, curated by Lady Gaga, American singer-songwriter, saw the participation of several global music heavyweights including Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Lizzo and Jennifer Lopez.

Lang Lang, Rita Ora, Black Coffee, Common, Ellie Goulding, Jacky Cheung, Usher, Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, John Legend, Stevie Wonder, and Celine Dion were also among the musicians who participated.

Burna Boy performed ‘African Giant’ and ‘Hallelujah’, two of his hit projects, during the virtual concert. The six-hour primetime event was hosted by Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert, American late-night television personalities.

In a series of posts on his social media page, the award-winning Nigerian singer appreciated fans who followed the show from their various homes.

“Shout out to everyone who tuned in and every single person that came together to make #TogetherAtHome happen! Remember we’re ALL in this together and we WILL overcome. C/o@GlblCtzn sending and strength always,” he wrote in one of the posts on Twitter.

The event was broadcast on major television networks worldwide to further raise people’s consciousness about the raging killer virus and also foster unity through song.
