Teenage age is the time your teens try to figure out so many things going on in their life, the body changes, happenings, education, independency and so many other.

These little things might sometimes overwhelm your teen if you fail to pay close attention.

Teenage age is full of so many exciting and saddening phases, a time when there are so many ‘first time’.

Guiding your teenage child through this phase is important to the woman they become.

There are so many problems the teenage girl encounters, some of them are, peer pressure, appearance, dating, friendship, menstruation and so many others.

1. Appearance :

Starting puberty comes with so much changes in the voice, body shapes and so much others.

These changes makes her worried as she has to continuously try to cope with and accept it.

With the media and peers painting a perfect figure, she is left devastated if she’s no where close to those.

Solution

Teaching your teenage girl how best to cope with these changes while making her understand that the ‘perfect figure’ is only but a fad will help her in accepting her body just the way it is.

2. Friendship/Peer Pressure

In other to get accepted by peers, teenage girls tend to behave in a certain way just to belong.

This makes them do things they might not like or adopt behaviors that are off their personality.

So many things are new to  your teenage daughter at this age and most times she’s forced to want to compare her self,body shapes with others.

This can be really overwhelming and pressuring for her and plays a damaging effect on her self esteem.

This is one of the first she will experience as she enters the menstruation phase. It’s a big change she will have to get used to and know how best to handle it.

Having crushes is something that is absolutely normal but over time, she might fall in love with that crush.

With the increase in secretion of sex hormones, these teenagers might get romantically involved.

It’s really fun and challenging being a teenager but with proper guidance from parenting, she will be just fine.

As a parent it’s OK to be available for a chitchat with her, make her comfortable to actually discuss these things with you.
