2022 Brit Award: Adele picks up three awards

Adele Adkins

Award-winning English singer, Adele Adkins, definitely stole the show at the just concluded 2022 Brit Award ceremony as she earned three awards on Tuesday.

The chart-topping superstar, who was nominated in four categories, picked up the first award of the night – song of the year – for her hit single ‘Easy on Me.

The 33-year-old also won the artist of the year and Mastercard album of the year but lost the fan-voted best pop/rock act to Dua Lipa.

Meanwhile, the annual British award was held at the O2 Arena, a multi-purpose indoor arena in the centre of The O2 entertainment complex on the Greenwich Peninsula in southeast London.

The ‘Hello’ singer has now set a personal record of winning both the album of the year and song of the year on three occasions.

Following in the footsteps of other awards shows and events that have removed gender classifications, organisers for the BRITs had in November said there were getting rid of female and male categories from 2022.
