The second category comprising awards such as the physician of the year, this include physicians in public and private sector. Under the voting there will still be physician of the year diaspora and the young physician of the year.’’

The event he added would also feature special recognition awards for excellence for facilities that provide services in mother and child care, cardiovascular, surgical and oncology care.

Speaking on the impact of the awards since inception, Director Communications and Advocacy, Premier Medical Systems, Olufunke Oluwole affirmed that it has inspired and motivated medical practitioners to continue to excel in their individual practices and in the profession as a whole.

In addition, Oluwole who is also the convener of POTY said: ‘’ There is also more awareness about the awards and many physicians in the country and abroad now want to be part of it.
