Steps To Taking Off Your Makeup Correctly

Taking your makeup off we know is compulsory,  but the question is, are you doing it the right way? To get that glowing skin you so desire, follow these easy steps to taking off make-up thoroughly.

1.Do not rush

When removing your makeup, especially eye makeup,  it is advisable to give  the remover time to work its magic. This will also prevent you from having to rub/scrub with your makeup-remover pad as  friction can damage the delicate skin around your eyes. So apply makeup remover and let it sit for sometime before the final wipe and remember, the slower you go, the better.

2. Go for flat cotton pads

Resist the urge of grabbing the cheapest cotton balls and always opt for flat cotton pads instead of balls. They come with a quilted texture, that won’t leave behind  residue or break down during usage, thereby leaving fibers on your lashes or skin

3. Do not rely on wipes

cleansing wipes

Using facial wipes can be an excellent first step in removing makeup, but a proper wash should ideally follow. It is advisable to use water and face wash as that is what will truly remove residue and prep your skin for a good night regimen. If you use only wipes and then apply moisturizer, you might push dirt into your pores and wake up with pimples or black heads.

4. Use oil base cleansers

The new oil cleansers really can work miracles since oil dissolves oil. Use them with wash cloth for added edge. However, if you really can’t stand the feel of an oil cleanser, experts suggests milky and gel textures as good alternatives.

5. Dont miss this spot.

If there’s one zone that’s frequently neglected during makeup removal, it’s the elusive edge of your eyelid, where liner and mascara can build up over time and lead to eye irritation. You need to get in there with a more targeted tool and make sure every last speck is gone. Use a  cotton bud with olive oil to take off everything.

6. Don’t skip the crucial last step.

Makeup removal should always be followed up with at least some moisture: Balm up those lips if you’ve just removed lipstick, and dab on eye cream. You need to keep your skin soft and hydrated before going to bed.
