3 Things In The Mind Of The Hiring Manager.
So you made it through the first interview, and then, you got called for the second one. You might feel uncertain if you made it pass that interview as you expect to be called finally for the job offer. It might interest you to know that there are a lot of things your interviewers are discussing.
Below is a checklist of likely discussions going pending your appointment:
- Is the person excited to be interviewing here?
Beside meeting the qualifications standards, employers also desire to have employees who are very passionate about their organisation’s mission, visions, goals and roles. Showing disinterest in being part of the working team can ruin one’s chances of being employed. The candidate that exhibits enthusiasm and energy, stands a better chance of getting the job offer than his opponent who does not.
- Is there anyone else we should ask this person to interview?
Sometimes, job interviews can take on different levels. A candidate might go through the lens of series of interviewers. This is also dependent on availability of both parties. The job candidate might interpret delay in response as rejection from the potential employer. Chances are that they are deliberating on another meeting.
- How soon do we need someone to start?
When an interviewer makes an offer, he/she is likely to ask you about your availability. He/She does this to see how the candidate’s time line can fit into the the organisation. More so, the Human Resource department have to ascertain the time-line for giving your current company notice before leaving. Issues like this, spur long conversations and if you are not the right fit for them, they are likely to fill the gap with the likely resources.
