5 Hair Must-Have

August 15,2016
Share:

Due to the amount of cuticles on the outer of black hair, a rigid maintenance regimen is required. Even though we have different hair types, we all have to follow the same maintenance regimen that will enable hair growth and keep our hair healthy. Here are some hair tools a black woman cannot do without.

1. Daily Moisturizer

moisturizer

Mizani butter rich deep nourishing hair dress is a light moisturizer that serves as a good source of hydration for the hair. Its rich fast absorbing butter blend prevents breakage.  It is advisable that you moisturize your hair as often as possible and mainly at night.

2. Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Edge Control

Olive oil

Organic Root Stimulator Olive Edge Control is a non -sticky and non- greasy formula used to hold edges down. Whether it’s natural or relaxed, it works. it brings shine and moisture to the hair.  It can be used to create beautiful and desirable hairstyles. Try it and say bye to gel.

3. Satin Scarf or Satin Wraps

Scarfs

Most women tend to leave their hair uncovered while sleeping. Make it a priority to use a satin cap to sleep.  First you section your hair with the wide tooth comb, combing it anticlockwise, then use the satin cap to cover it. This helps prevent split ends and having to put heat on the hair everyday to straighten it out. Do this for a week and you will notice a tremendous difference in your hair texture.

4. Shampoo, Conditioner and repairing hair mask

Shampoo

Research has shown that the sulfates in most shampoos strip the hair of essential oils that lead to breakage. Depending on the activities of an individual, it is safe to wash and condition your hair every 3 to 7 days. Hair should also be deep conditioned every 2 weeks.  My personal favorite is Carol’s daughter Monoi repairing set; it is great for damaged hair. It is a rich hydrating product that helps to remove impurities without stripping the hair of its nutrients unlike other shampoos. It leaves the hair clean and strong. When used with the condition, It leaves the hair feeling soft and silky. It also prevents breakage and makes hair stronger. The repair mask is just the icing on the cake. This rich
formula contains a blend of butter and oils that will keep the hair shiny and stronger than ever.

5. Wide Tooth Comb

wide tooth comb

A lot of women use different kinds of combs which are harmful to hair follicles and causes hair to break.  A wide tooth comb simply combs the
hair to give a suitable hairstyle and help in detangling relaxed and natural hair. It may look big but it is more useful and less harmful to your hair and results in less breakage of hair.

HOME-MADE MANE MANAGEMENT

Use these simple potions to solve hair issues at home without a salon bill.

FOR DANDRUFF

• Get a jar of coconut oil and massage scalp with it from time to time.
• Mix coconut oil with lemon juice and olive oil, part your hair into sections and apply the mixture directly to the scalp. Use a steam cap or just wrap your hair with a towel. Wash off with a mild shampoo after 15 minutes.

FOR WEAK HAIR

Rinse out your hair with vinegar in water once in a while. This will give your hair body and shine.
•    Mix up  1 egg white
•    2 tbsp of castor oil
•   1tbsp of glycerin
Apply this nourishing mix to your hair and scalp and wrap it up in a towel for a while and rinse off with tepid water.
•    DO NOT rub your hair vigorously with a towel when drying. This causes breakage. Always pat it dry gently.
•    Never comb your hair with a fine toothed comb when wet. Hair is at its weakest when wet.
