Rapper, M. I says he is only doing “mature” music henceforth
By Patricia Uyeh,
Nigerian rapper, Jude Abaga, popularly called M.I Ababa or Mr Incredible has revealed that he is only on doing matured music.
According to the ” Undisputed champion” crooner, he is now at the point where he thinks of what to say first before going to the studio to record.
Speaking on why he has been off the Nigerian music scene in a while since he became CEO of the Chocolate City Music, M. I said:
“I’m 10 years in the industry since my first song in Lagos, It is a ultimate compliment to me that I’m being compared to people like Olamide, Phyno, and Ice Prince that came out after me.
“Think about M.I’s first five years. As you get older, you get tired of saying some things. It’s very hard for me to go and write a song about being in the club. At a certain point as an artiste, you prefer to listen to a young boy talk about ‘Jaiye’ than an old artiste.
“The CEO work has been harder than I thought, it has taken time from me. As a brand it becomes tougher to keep up. I have like five projects in my head and my heart.
“Then I want to live because I’m also getting older. So when I get those projects (as a musician) done, I will evaluate, maybe that will be the end. But getting those projects out is my focus right now. when I get there I will see what happens.”
