Aisha Buhari hosts Zainab Aliyu to Iftar
Zainab Aliyu, the lady who was falsely accused of trafficking hard substance in Saudi Arabia has visited the first lady, Aisha Buhari.
The 22-year-old and her family members had the honour of sharing Iftar together with the first lady in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The pictures of the event were shared by Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, SSA to the President on Foreign Relations & Diaspora with the caption: “H E @aishambuhari hosted Zainab Aliyu and her family to Iftar, breaking of fast, at the Presidential Villa. The judiciary must ensure those who framed Zainab for drugs in Saudi Arabia do not go unpunished.”
Aishat was released after she spent four months in Saudi prison. She claimed that her time in the prison had given her the chance to learn pure Arabic and memorise half of the Qur’an.
Zainab Aliyu and Ibrahim Abubakar, the two Nigerians were arrested in Saudi Arabia arrived in Nigeria, earlier in the month, after an outcry by Nigerians and intervention by the Nigerian government, saying the act was perpetrated by drug cartels at Nigerian airport.
