Senate committee, IGP, to investigate Senator Abbo’s assault on ladies
The Senate, on Wednesday, has set up a seven-man committee to investigate the assault of a lady by Senator Elisha Abbo.
This follows Nigerians reaction calling for a probe into the actions of the senator who slapped the sales girl in a sex toy shop, in Abuja.
The committee, which, has two weeks to submit its report, was announced by Senate President Ahmad Lawan, following a point of order raised by the Senator representing Kaduna Central, Uba Sani.
Headed by former governor of Ebonyi State, Sam Egwu, other members are Senators Oluremi Tinubu, Mathew Urhoghide, Stella Oduah, Dauda Aliu Jika, Sani Musa, and Danladi Sankara.
Earlier, the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, had assured protesters who stormed the police headquarters that investigations would begin on the matter immediately.
