Buhari presents MMIA cleaner with ICPC Integrity Award
Ms. Josephine Ugwu, the cleaner at Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos, who on more than one occasion, found and returned millions of naira, forgotten in the toilet by airport users, has been presented with the ICPC Integrity Award.
President Muhammadu Buhari made the presentation today in Abuja.
At the event, the president noted that Ugwu has shown an uncommon sense of honesty in a society fast losing its moral conscience.
The picture of the event was shared on the official Twitter handle of the president @MBuhari with the caption: “On more than one occasion, Mrs. Josephine Ugwu, a former cleaner at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, found and returned millions of naira forgotten in the toilet by airport users. Today it was my privilege to present her with an ICPC Integrity Award.”
Recall that 0n December 23, 2014, despite earning N7,800 per month, Ms Ugwu found and returned N3million she found at the airport. Also on December 27 of the same year, she found and returned N600, 000.
Again, in 2015, she was to find N17 million and returned the same.
