Coronavirus outbreak: Actress, Abiola Segun Williams expresses worry at Chinese population in Nigeria

Nollywod actress, Abiola Segun Williams has expressed her concern over the population of Chinese indigenes, many of who went for their New Year lunar festival and would be returning soon.

Many of them, according to the veteran actress, are already trooping in!

She called on State and federal governments to take adequate measures in handling the situation, as, without effective border checks, the virus can creep in on us.

She also had a word for the general populace: “So my people in case we are all on our own, let us work on our immunity o. Reduce animal protein. Eat a lot of vegetables and fruits. Take natural supplements to boost your immune system.”

This is the full text of her post on Instagram:

“So I am quite concerned about what is being done or not done about the coronavirus in Nigeria.

“We do realise that there is a huge population of Chinese people in our midst. They are all over the place. Markets, hotels, on the streets everywhere.

“Most of them went for their New year lunar festival and they will be back soon. Some are already trooping in!!! Egbawa o @profosinbajo @muhammadubuhari @jidesanwoolu @lagosstategovt what is being done about this?

“Honestly it is at times like this I remember and appreciate @brfashola. He remains one of my all-time heroes for the way he handled the Ebola crises. I can never forget measures taken by that government to arrest the disease and contain it. Kudos to that govt they did remarkably well.

“Please sir @jidesanwoolu I’d love to repose such trust in you sir. Pls handle this situation o. Don’t let this people come in willy nilly without effective checks at all our borders @profosinbajo ejoooo.

“A health practitioner said the best way to prevent the disease or any disease for that matter is to maintain a very healthy nutrition lifestyle and a very high immune system that can fight any virus to a standstill.

“So my people in case we are all on our own, let us work on our immunity o. Reduce animal protein. Eat a lot of vegetables and fruits. Take natural supplements to boost your immune system.

“May God preserve and keep us from all evil. May he preserve our souls.”
