Tope Alabi explains why she joined the ‘gbese’ train
Gospel singer and songwriter, Evangelist Tope Alabi has addressed those condemning her dance moves in a recent video that has gone viral.
According to her, she had to do the ‘legwork and gbe body’ moves to worship God during the burial of her father. She added that even as a spiritual person, one needs to dance, as it is not easy to bury one’s father.
Since the video began to trend, critics have complained that she ‘worshipped’ God with reckless abandon, adding that she should have comported herself more.
“I needed that dance, it was at my father’s burial. I just needed to dance and worship God. As a spiritual person, you know you need that dance. It’s not easy to bury one’s father.” Tope said on a Tv programme.
Pa Joseph Akinyele Obayomi, Tope’s dad, slept in the Lord on December 13, 2019.
