Mike Edwards’ wife, Perri, now official Nike ambassador; to mentor younger athletes
Perri Edwards, the wife of Mike Edwards of the Big Brother Naija Season 4 fame, is now an official Nike ambassador.
Nike is a corporation, engaged in the design of sports footwear, apparel, equipment, accessories, and services.
Perri, who recently retired as a professional athlete, shared the news on social media with a post titled ‘From athlete to ambassador.’
As a member of the Nike family, she will be mentoring younger athletes, sharing and offering her expertise and experiences that she picked up as an athlete.
“From being supported from the age of 14 as they believed in my potential, all through my career including the highs and lows as an athlete. After 17 years as a sponsored athlete. I’m happy to still be apart of the Nike Family as an Ambassador to mentor to younger athletes, share and offer my expertise and experiences that I picked up as an athlete. And whatever cool stuff Nike wants me to be apart of ha. Thank you @nikelondon.”
Through her Perri, 31, won two world medals as part of the British 4x400m quartet.
Individually, she also won 400m gold at the European Indoor Championships in 2013 and a European bronze over the hurdles in Barcelona in 2010.
She helped Britain through the 2017 heats in London before Eilidh Doyle came into the team that won silver behind the United States in the final.
