As part of it’s committed to enhancing the quality of life and contributing to a healthier future of the people, Nestlé brand, MAGGI, has launched a first-of-a-kind cooking Website in Central and West Africa.

Along with the launch of the website, the brand also launched Season 2 of Yelo Pèppè, its popular online nutrition education drama series.

Speaking on a virtual press conference on Wednesday, Dominique Allier – Business Executive Officer, Culinary observed that the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting consumer behaviour, more people are increasingly looking online for cooking ideas, recipes, and tips to live a healthy life.

Hence, the need to launch the website.

According to Allier, the website will provide over 40 African Recipe cuisines served along nutrition information to help consumers adopt a healthier diet, adding that it also offers fresh new twists to well-known African dishes.

He revealed that the website was built in collaboration with top African chefs, expert nutritionists, and local food influencers, giving helpful tips on balanced dishes to adopt healthier diets. The website also provides helpful tips in some recipes on how to boost your iron intake and balanced dishes.

Speaking further on the website, Akua Kwakwa, Nutrition, Health, and Wellness Manager, for Nestlé Central and West Africa, highlights the importance of including nutritious diets in our daily lives with well-known family favourites.

“People across the globe now have easy access to traditional African recipes we know and love. You will find the amount of carbohydrates, fat, sugars, protein, sodium, fiber, saturates, and calories per serving in every meal, based on its ingredients. The website also features the MyMenuIQ™ nutritional guide.”

Giving an insight into what Season 2 of Yelo Pèppè, is about, Kwakwa said: “it is a unique online series created by MAGGI, centered on the lives of five contemporary African women. It celebrates African cuisine while promoting a healthy lifestyle through nutrition education. This is coming on the heels of success, which reached more than 20.3 million views online.”

Yelo Pèppè Season 2 will commence showing on YouTube on June 8, 2020.

On what the viewers should expect during the new season, Kwakwa said: “the show will raise awareness on healthy cooking, promote healthy cooking.

“The new website and Yelo Pèppè series are recent examples of how MAGGI is fulfilling the ‘Simply Good’ commitments it made to consumers in 2017,” she added.

Some of the stars of the drama series, Ade Laoye, Anita Erskine; and Shirley Frimpong Manso, (director) also join an online discussion.
