Actress, Joke Silva still graceful at 59
Veteran Nollywood actress, director, and businesswoman, Joke Silva clocked 59 today.
Mummy J, as she is fondly called by colleagues and protégées took to the social media to express her gratitude to God for family, friends, and what lies ahead.
“59 and grateful for…Family and Friends…for what lies ahead…most of all….for the steadfast Love of the Lord….🎶🎶🎶.” She wrote on Instagram.
Born on September 29, 1961, in Lagos, her late father, Mr Silva was a lawyer, while her late mother, Mrs Adebimbola was a doctor.
She attended Holy Child College, Lagos, after which she went for her A level studies abroad. After her A levels, she came back to Nigeria and joined the University of Lagos (Unilag) Culture Centre, which later became the department of creative arts. And later the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London, she began her career in film in the early 1990s.
She has starred in innumerable English and Yoruba films and television series.
The actress is married to veteran Olu Jacobs, and they founded and operate the Lufodo Group, a media corporation that consists of film production.
