Yoruba movie actress, Orisabunmi dies at 60
Veteran Yoruba actress, Folake Aremu, popularly known as Orisabunmi is dead. She died at the age of 60.
President of the Theatre Arts And Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) Bolaji Amusan, known as Mr. Latin, confirmed she died on Tuesday night, though he did not reveal the cause of her death.
Another senior TAMPAN member Tunde Ola-Yusuff also announced the death in a Facebook post.
“She left without a goodbye. The sudden death of Mrs Folake Aremu (ORISABUNMI) has been announced.
“Really a shock on everyone. Iya Oosa, may God rest your Soul among the righteous,” Ola Yusuff wrote.
The Kwara born actress dies four months after the death of her ex-husband, Jimoh Aliu, who was popularly known as Aworo.
Orisabunmi was born on October 10, 1960, in Ilu Ola, Kwara state. She went to Ilu Ola Primary School and Secondary Commercial College. She never attended university. The veteran actress was discovered by her ex-husband in the 80s while working as a teacher in Kwara state.
