Feminist Coalition responds to allegations of moving N23m in bitcoin donated for #EndSARS protest

March 12,2021

Some Twitter users have accused the Feminist Coalition (FemCo) of moving N23 million in bitcoin donated for the #EndSARS protest to another site.

During and after the rally, which was sparked by police brutality, the party was also accused of not being open about their expenses. On March 5, a new transaction was said to have taken place.

The professional protesters that missed out on being made the heroes of #ENDSARS are mad at FEMCO for helping to further democratise that agitation.

— JJ. Omojuwa (@Omojuwa) March 12, 2021

I will personally do a petition to EFCC on this #EndSARS money. Don’t joke with me. You guys better come clean and give account for every kobo donated.

— Comrade Deji Adeyanju (@adeyanjudeji) March 12, 2021

Are some people secretly hoping FemCo wud embezzle funds donated for #EndSARS victims? Yes.

However is it witch-hunting to demand accountability from them? No.

Can we demand accountability without making baseless accusations and insinuations of fraud? Yes.

It’s not that hard.

— Baldilocks™ (@Baldilocks__) March 12, 2021

Account for all monies you received for #EndSARS or face EFCC. Go and ask around, anything I say, I will do it.

— Comrade Deji Adeyanju (@adeyanjudeji) March 12, 2021

The group has now responded with a statement:
