Post Lockdown Celebrity Baby Boom!

To manage the spread of the dreaded COVID-19 outbreak in Nigeria, the government restricted movements and other activities; it was a total lockdown that officially began in March 2020. The lockdown brought boredom, necessitating many taking to social media to find some fun and engage in different trending challenges.

However, with the recent good news from some celebrities’ quarters, it has become apparent that they were also specially busy with their spouses during the lockdown. 

The last couple of weeks have seen celebrities announcing the news of their pregnancies and babies, to the surprise of many. On this Mother’s Day, we celebrate five celebrities who announced their pregnancies, and welcomed babies nine months after the lockdown.

2021 is certainly turning out to be a year for mummies, bumps, and babies, and we are all in for it.

Olateru-Olagbegi; Media personality Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi took to her Instagram page to share a lovely photo of her baby bump, as she posed in a red dress on Friday, February 19, indicating that she just welcomed her bundle of joy.

Gbemi, who is also a fashion entrepreneur, officially got married to her soul-mate, talent manager, Femisoro Ajayi, on November 8, 2018.

Adesuwa Etomi-Wellington, queen of surprises, pulled out another one after her wedding day surprise, when she announced on her birthday, Monday, February 22, that she welcomed a baby boy a month ago. Her music star husband, Banky W, in a separate Instagram post, revealed the baby’s name as “Zaiah.” 

Etomi got engaged to Banky W in February 2017. The couple held their traditional marriage on November 19, court wedding on November 20, and had the church wedding on  November 25, 2017.

Kemi Lala Akindoju: The Nigerian actress welcomed a baby boy with her celebrity chef husband, Chef Fregz.The new mum announced the good news via her Instagram page on Sunday, February 28, 2021. Akindoju got married to Chef Gbubemi Fregene in September, 2018.
Etinosa Idemudia: She welcomed a baby girl with her husband on Friday, December 25, 2020.
Akah Nnani: Nollywood actor, Akah Nnani, welcomed a bouncing baby boy with his wife, Claire, on Monday, February 8, 2020. The actor-cum- Vlogger got married to his beautiful bride, Claire Idera, on April 8, 2019.
