Baba Ijesha, also known as Olanrewaju James, has been given bail.

The actor, who has been in police custody since April for allegedly defiling comedian Princess’ foster daughter, was given bail on health grounds today, May 17, by a magistrate who was at the State Criminal Investigation Department SCID Panti to study some cases in an attempt to decongest the police station.

Baba Ijesha has not been released because his lawyer, Adesina Ogunlana, is still working on refining his bail conditions, which include the requirement that he have two sureties. One of the sureties must be a Level 10 public official, and the other must be an actor’s relative.

The bail sum has been set at N500,000.

Due to the Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria’s boycott, the alleged actor is yet to be tried in court (JUSUN)
