Chidiogo Akunyili-Parr, one of the daughters of slain surgeon and widower of the former Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), late Prof Dora Akunyili. has spoken following the brutal killing of her dad, Dr Chike Akunyili.

Dr Akunyili was killed by yet to be identified gunmen at Nkpor, Anambra State, on Tuesday.

Chidiogo, in a post on Instagram recounted speaking with her dad a day before he was murdered and they
spoke about her late mother,: about the award being bestowed upon her the next day.

According to her, they also discussed the current hardships, with patients not being able to pay for care, and unsafe everyone is now.

Little did she know that that would be the last.

Describing her dad as “a son, a beloved father, a loving grandfather, a healer, a papal Knight, Agbalanze of Agulu, a friend, a brother, and so much more”, she then called on the killers to choose a different path, as the current one leads to more senseless death and pain for one too many.
