How to style a coffee table

Styling a coffee table can transform it into a visually appealing and functional focal point in your living room.

Here are five tips on how to style a coffee table effectively:
Start with a Foundation:
Begin by selecting a base or foundation for your coffee table display. This can be a decorative tray, a stack of coffee table books, a beautiful table runner, or a large decorative bowl. This foundation provides structure and anchors the arrangement.
Create Height and Balance:
Add varying heights to your display to create visual interest and balance. Mix and match items of different heights, such as tall vases, candle holders, or decorative sculptures. Group items in odd numbers (e.g., 3 or 5) for a more balanced and aesthetically pleasing arrangement.
Add Decorative Objects:
Incorporate decorative objects that reflect your personal style and the overall theme of your living space. Consider items like decorative bowls, vases, art pieces, or figurines. Make sure they complement the colour scheme and vibe of the room.
Include Greenery:
Bringing in natural elements like plants or flowers can add life and freshness to your coffee table display. Place a small potted plant, succulent, or a vase of fresh flowers in your arrangement. Greenery can also soften the look of the table and add a touch of nature to the room.
Personal Touch:
Add a personal touch by including items that have sentimental value or reflect your interests. This could be family photos in stylish frames, travel souvenirs, or items that have a special meaning to you. These personal elements make your coffee table uniquely yours.

Bonus Tip:
Consider the scale of your coffee table and the size of your seating area. Make sure the items you choose for the table are in proportion to the tables size and the surrounding furniture. You dont want to overwhelm a small table with oversized decor or have a large, empty table with tiny objects lost in the space.

Remember that coffee table styling is a matter of personal taste, so feel free to experiment with different arrangements until you find the one that suits your style and complements your living room decor. Its also a great opportunity to update your coffee table display with seasonal decor or to refresh it periodically to keep your space feeling inviting and dynamic.
