Style Faculty stuns with Afrocentric pieces at Afro Fashion Show UK

Nigeria’s international fashion brand, Style Faculty, stunned audiences on the international scene when it showcased a diverse range of pieces at the recently held Afro Fashion Show UK.

Held July 6th, 2024, at the magnificent Hilton in Deansgate, Manchester, United Kingdom, the show, which featured 16 designers altogether, was a rare blend of fashion and entertainment as it also witnessed electrifying performances by seasoned Afro-Caribbean artists including the Bongo Warriors and Yetti Tabai.

In line with the theme of the show which sought to exclusively showcase the creativity of Afro-Caribbean designers, Style Faculty flooded the runway with Afrocentric pieces, each embracing ethnicity with a contemporary flair.

The extremely versatile pieces suitable for effortless transition from day to night, oozed of high premium on fabric quality, finishing and attention to innovative detail.

Described by Olajumoke Atoyebi, the visionary behind Style Faculty, as a showcase of the brand’s dedication to empowering women with confidence while celebrating their individuality, every garment effortlessly dripped grace and style.

The Style Faculty team, she told Allure, collaborates to weave narratives into each garment with the aim to convey cultural stories through designs that celebrate the stylish, expressive, and confident woman embodied by the brand.

Originally named Finery by Crown, Style Faculty underwent a transformation in 2023, rebranding as Style Faculty to better reflect its mission of curating timeless pieces that transcend trends and embody enduring style.

Olajumoke had discovered her passion for sewing at the age of 14. Now armed with a degree in Classics, a Diploma from the British Fashion Academy and a professional certification from ThreadsbyKwete Academy where she further honed her skills, some of her creations conspicuously draw inspiration from characters in Ancient Greek mythology.

With meticulous craftsmanship and an unwavering commitment to elegance, Style Faculty continues to capture the hearts of fashion enthusiasts worldwide, while operating from both the indigenous city of Ibadan, Nigeria, and the United Kingdom.
