Makeup Hacks Every Beginner Should Know

If you are just starting your makeup journey, you do not need a huge collection of products to achieve a polished look. These beginner-friendly hacks will make makeup easier and more natural.

Christmas
  1. Start with moisturised skin. Makeup sits better on hydrated skin, so always apply a moisturiser before anything else.
  2. Use a primer for longer wear. A small amount helps smooth your skin and keeps makeup in place throughout the day.
  3. Less foundation is more. Apply a thin layer and build coverage only where you need it for a natural finish.
  4. Blend, blend, blend. Whether you’re using a sponge or brush, blending well is the secret to seamless makeup.
  5. Apply concealer only where needed. Brighten under the eyes and cover blemishes instead of using too much product everywhere.
  6. Fill in your brows lightly. Use short, hair-like strokes rather than drawing one solid line for a softer, more natural look.
  7. Curl your lashes before mascara. It instantly opens up the eyes and makes lashes look longer.
  8. Choose neutral eyeshadow shades. Browns, taupes and soft peach tones are easy to blend and flattering on almost everyone.
  9. Use cream blush for a fresh glow. Dab it onto the apples of your cheeks and blend upwards for a youthful look.
  10. Finish with a setting spray. It melts all your makeup together and helps it stay fresh for longer.

Bonus Hack: Practice in natural daylight whenever possible. It helps you see your true skin tone, blend better, and avoid applying too much makeup. Remember, makeup is a skill, the more you practice, the more confident you’ll become.
