Forbe Releases List Of Top 5 Richest Hip Hop Artists
The most anticipated Forbes rich list for hip hop artistes 2016, came out yesterday. For years running now, the top five wealthiest hip hop artists consisted of the same five people but as expected, someone was going to be leaving the list this year after loosing court cases and filing a bankruptcy charge. The star to exit would be rapper Fifty Cent, and in comes Drake from YMCMB and OVO with so many deals on his belt ranging from Sprite to Apple, Nike and others.

Drake
Starting the list from the buttom up is Drake at number five with a 60 million dollar net worth, thanks to many platinum albums, sold out tours and million dollar endorsements on his sleeve. I guess this sums up the question of who is hotter between Drake and Lil Wayne his boss who put him on the game. Numbers don’t lie.

Birdman
At number four, is Birdman (Bryan Williams) who moves up a notch even though he has a dip in fortune from 140 million dollars last year to 110 million dollars now as a result of the shake down in his Cash Money Enterprise. With Lil Wayne his most bankable artists dragging him to court and slowing down his music releases, and rumours of Nicki Minaj and Drake going with him, Birdman certainly got some problems.

Jay-Z
Sean Carter, aka Jayz is number three on the list with an estimated net worth of 610 million dollars. Jay Z has a lot of businesses to his name but the most recent money maker for him, is Tidal a streaming service he acquired that now has 3 million paid subscribers.

Dr. Dre
Number two on the list is Dr. Dre, the super producer whose deal with Apple’s purchase of his Beats By Dre, got him the highest one day pay off for any living musician in history. Now a real Estate business and his stake in the movie “Straigh Outta Compton” added to his wallet handsomely too. He is with an estimated worth of 710 million dollars.

Puff Daddy
Sean Combs who we know by different names, most prominent of which is Puff Daddy, rules this list with an estimated net worth of 750 Million dollars. His stake in Ciroc vodka, his Television Network, Sean Jean clothing line and Bad Boy record label, are major earners for the New York native.
As hip hop continues to grow, we believe to see Billionaires come into this list in the not too distant future.
