Seinde Signature Hosts Sarah Baker in Landmark Multi-City Fragrance Premiere in Nigeria
By Yemisi Suleiman
Nigeria is set to take center stage in a defining moment for Africa’s luxury fragrance industry, as Seinde Signature, the country’s premier headquarters for niche perfumery, announces an unprecedented three-city experiential fragrance launch in partnership with globally celebrated perfumer, Sarah Baker.

Scheduled to run from April 16 to April 19, 2026, the multi-city tour will see Abuja host the opening presentation on April 16, followed by Port Harcourt on April 17, and culminating in an opulent grand finale in Lagos on April 19. The events will mark Sarah Baker’s first-ever visit to Nigeria, and indeed Africa, making it her most ambitious unveiling on the continent to date.
At the heart of the showcase are two of Baker’s newest fragrance creations, Velvet Vendetta and Vava Vanilla, which will receive their globally spotlighted presentation on Nigerian soil. The move underscores Nigeria’s growing influence as a key player within the international luxury ecosystem.
Born in San Francisco and now based in London, Sarah Baker is widely regarded as a perfumer who approaches scent as narrative art. With a background in Fine Art from the San Francisco Art Institute and an MFA from Goldsmiths, University of London, she has built a fragrance house that treats each scent as a theatrical composition, complete with characters, emotional arcs, and cinematic depth. Since founding her brand in 2015, her portfolio has grown to include 16 fragrances, with acclaimed titles such as Peaches Revenge, Rococo Pie, Pastel Rumours, and Flame & Fortune.
The Nigerian showcase, however, will spotlight her newest works. Velvet Vendetta, launched globally in December 2025, is described as a study in seduction and restraint, plush, textural, and emotionally layered. In contrast, Vava Vanilla reimagines vanilla as couture: creamy yet complex, familiar yet boldly modern.
Driving this cultural milestone is Olaseinde Olufemi Olusola, founder of Seinde Signature and one of Africa’s most distinguished perfume collectors. In just six years, the brand has evolved from a passion project into a powerhouse, representing over 40 niche fragrance houses and expanding to 15 locations nationwide. Beyond retail, Seinde Signature has positioned itself as a curator, educator, and tastemaker shaping Nigeria’s luxury fragrance narrative.
The Lagos finale will feature a theatrical performance led by Nollywood leading actor Deyemi Okanlawon alongside a cast, bringing to life the stories behind Velvet Vendetta and Vava Vanilla. This cinematic interpretation reinforces the brand’s commitment to storytelling, transforming fragrance into a full sensory experience.
Speaking on the significance of the collaboration, Ore Olusola, General Manager of Seinde Signature, emphasized its deeper meaning:
“Hosting Sarah Baker is not simply collaboration but an alignment of two visionaries committed to storytelling, craftsmanship, and uncompromising artistry.”
She further highlighted Nigeria’s evolving position in the global luxury space:
“Nigeria is no longer merely a consumer of global luxury, it is a host, a tastemaker, and a destination worthy of world premieres and in keeping with Sarah’s artistic DNA, the launches will unfold not as traditional retail events, but as immersive performance installations.”
According to her, guests can expect a fully immersive, multi-sensory experience:
“Scenes inspired by the narrative scripts of Velvet Vendetta and Vava Vanilla will be theatrically interpreted for guests, transforming scent into stagecraft.”
She added that the Lagos venue, Coffee & Gelato University at Purple Mall, Lekki, will elevate the experience even further:
“The Lagos venue , Coffee & Gelato University at the Purple Mall, Lekki, will amplify the multisensory dimension: Ice creams crafted in the flavour profiles of all 16 Sarah Baker fragrances will invite guests to taste what they smell, activating sight, sound, scent, touch, and flavour in a seamless sensory dialogue. This is experiential luxury at its most imaginative. It is a statement beyond scent.”
With three cities, two new fragrance icons, and one historic first visit, the Seinde Signature x Sarah Baker tour signals more than a product launch, it marks a cultural shift. Nigeria is not just participating in global luxury; it is defining it.
